Aroona Centre

Exceeding the
National Standard

At Bella Grace, we are incredibly proud to be the only early childhood provider in Queensland where every centre has achieved an 'EXCEEDING' rating under the National Quality Standard. This recognition reflects our commitment and is a testament in ensuring parents that their children are in an environment that consistently surpasses the highest benchmarks for quality, safety and early learning outcomes.

  • Bella Grace Aroona acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which our centre is located. We pay our respects to the Gubbi Gubbi mob and their elders, past, present, and emerging, and acknowledge the importance First Nations people continue to play within the early learning and development journey for the children of the Sunshine Coast community.

    Kind and Caring

CaringWe create opportunities for our children to foster wonder and understand the important contribution we make in caring for the country, our natural environment, ourselves, and the wider community.

Through our enriching educational programs, environments, and sustainable practices that promote children’s empathy, respect, nurturing, and inclusive relationships, and through our 3-tier framework, educators respond to and role model positive interactions and engagement that advocate for the child's rights.

At the centre, we have veggie gardens and worm farms, and we compost. We use a range of multimedia tools, and we offer families worm juice to use in their gardens. The children are beginning to understand the importance of reusing, reducing recycling, and rehoming.

    Mindfulness

We recognise that our families are the children’s first teachers and see all children as competent learners. This belief ensures we collaborate to support them in becoming future citizens who take pride in contributing to their world, connecting with, and appreciating the uniqueness of every individual’s journey, and respecting the interconnections between people, places, plants, and animals.

We use strategies to guide and support children in developing self-regulation, resilience, and sensory and spatial awareness, such as phoenix cups, emotion faces, and keyword signs. Through deliberate, purposeful, and thoughtful teaching, decisions, and interactions, children and educators scaffold, research, reflect on, and observe learning outcomes that benefit children’s learning and development.

    Sharing our Voices

Our Quality Improvement Plan is designed to enhance professional enquiry and reflection for improvement and growth. Deep connections and relationships with our children and their families ensure educators are responsive to children’s voices and interests, which guide our professional practices. We welcome and highly regard Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives to embed rich culture, traditions, and language. Through the collaborative sharing of wisdom and knowledge, we create learning environments to support child development. Educators recognise and harness teachable moments to enrich and extend children’s learning.

    Be Safe

Bella Grace Aroona has strong connections with local agencies and schools, advocating for a safe, secure, and supported community. This collaboration provides access to their expertise and resources, developing a deeper understanding of ongoing professional learning. Our environments have been thoughtfully and purposefully created to ensure interaction between the children and the educators, allowing opportunities to take risks, be aware of their body signs and feelings, act independently, and problem-solve while considering the rights of others, which creates a strong sense of belonging and well-being.
